Soundwaves

The recent machete and shooting deaths of Xulhaz Mannan and Tanay Mojumdar in Dhaka and the audacity of the killers to walk out of the apartment building following the crime chanting Allahu akbar are utterly despicable. We hear repeatedly this false assertion as a desperate plea rather than a valid affirmation. It is clear to me that these maniacal fools are profoundly wrong; their god is not great. In fact, the subscription to this Abrahamic god in whatever particular form is like a malignancy that has infected humanity. The more traditional methods of combatting a cancer, such as chemo and radiation treatments, will not work. With the disease having already spread through half the species, surgery is not an option either. The pathetic attempts to eliminate Daesh, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram put excision beyond being any viable solution to contamination.

The best resistance to disease is the cultivation of the organism’s intrinsic balance and natural resistance. A healthy entity is greatly more non-susceptible to alien invasion. If the Western world could regain its earlier confidence in animistic providence and the arts, it might be able to become stronger and more impervious to intimidation and compromising fear. I see music in particular as the West’s strongest and most effective weapon. The recent British testing of a concentrated beam of soundwaves to kill tumors while leaving the surrounding cells unharmed holds a promise in the development of a method to benefit a sane well-being against the disruption caused by physical and cultural sicknesses alike. The challenge today is the development of innovative ‘zapping therapies’ that rely on high-intensity focused ultrasound – Hifu and pleasant, harmonized sound. The West already has an Aladdin’s Cave’s treasure trove in her musical legacy. She also has the promise of further output through the perpetual permutations of inspired and new creativity. Higher cure rates with a lower cost to the patient in terms of reduced quality of life would be commensurate to a god who is truly great.
