Hail Furrina!
We honour the chthonic lady of the spring and earth.
O goddess who embraces both life and death,
Assist us in navigating the paths in both and between!
May we be nourished in our worship of you!
And may your waters quench, cleanse and purify us!
Salve Furrina!

Again a festival of which we know little. The likelihood remains, however, that Furrina is in essence a feminine counterpart of Neptunus. She possessed a grove on the Janiculum and close to the Tiber. A bridge in Arpinum was also dedicated to her. We surmise her association with springs and consider her an underworld nymph and goddess of the dead similar to Larunda and Larentia. The magic of the spring, like that of the grove, serves as a portal to the otherworld, the very numinous enchantment that we find in nature.
