The 16th of December is perhaps structurally one of the strangest in the Roman year - falling as it does after the termination of the year with its burial on the Consualia (15 December) but before the five-day epagomenal time-beyond-time that begins with the Saturnalia on the 17th and concludes with the Divalia on the 21st. It amounts to a (non-)time between time and non-time. I can only suggest to fasten your belts and get through it to the carnival that follows. And then get through that as well.
